• Total Comments:
• Total number of comments.
•  
• Approved:
• The number of comments approved in the admin section to be displayed in the comments list.
•  
• Submitted:
• Comments which have been entered via the form but have yet to be rejected or approved. These are not shown in the comments list.
•  
• Rejected:
• Comments that have been rejected and will not be shown in the list

Each comments list is separated by its ID (100 & 12). Statistics about each are shown and the "Admin" link reveals  moderation controls for accepting and rejecting comments that have been submitted. An automatic email is sent to prompt the Moderator that a comment has been submitted and is due to be accepted or rejected. 

The Comments module can be set so that comments are automatically accepted without an email being sent. This allows the Comments section to function without a moderator.
