WMS Google Map with Directions

Using the Google Maps API it is possible for a visitor of your website to get detailed directions, whether this be to your premises, a local attraction or landmark.

There are two examples shown on this page.

  1. A simple form which allows a user to enter their departure point. When the user clicks on the 'Get Directions' button, an external 'Google Map' page is opened displaying the directions. The WMS editor has control over the destination point within the WMS.

  2. An embedded Google Map to display directions on your website. Directions appear on the maps as a blue line. Google Maps breaks down directions into numbered sections in the directions panel, along with an estimated drive time. You can click on any section number to display an information window with map detail. You can collapse or expand this view by clicking. The WMS editor also has control over the departure point (in this instance the Ezone office) and the various destination points which a user selects from the 'Local Attractions' drop down menu.

Please feel free to interact with our WMS Sample below to see how such a module could assist your website users and clients.
